Bias in the media is bad. Incompetence in the media is bad. Natashi Korecki at the Sun-Times seems intent on making herself the poster child for both.

Her latest is headlined, Lawmakers’ Agenda for Bruce Rauner: Turn around and head to Springfield. It says that “Lawmakers seem to have an agenda that says, “Turn around — and get your behind to Springfield.”

Trouble is, nobody said any of that.

She goes on to list a number of other nasty things “lawmakers” and “they” think and say about Rauner. But she cites just two legislators, Democrats Lou Lang and John Cullerton who were critical of him. They indeed were very critical, mostly about the budget and what they see as Rauner’s bossy style. Surprise, surprise. But they did not say what she claims they said, and two legislators are not enough to make generalities about what legislators think.

It’s an old story with Korecki. She has authored a long list of one-sided rants against Rauner, sometimes labeled as opinion but usually not.
