Lincoln-Way High School District 210 has come under federal scrutiny, with a grand jury seeking information about the former superintendent’s compensation, as well as records related to the spending of bond money and student activity funds, the Daily Southtown has learned.

This hits home with me. From 1998 to 2012 I lived in mokena, my son attended Lincoln way east. The property taxes in mokena are crippling, most people there pay more in property tax than mortgage principal and interest. The teachers act like they live on a country club, they get free daycare, and the daycare that runs it is connected and operates expense free and rakes in a bundle. Even after all these taxes the school still nickel and dimes the parents on fees. Mokena has no tax base other than residential.
