Comment: Haven’t had a look at the methodology as it applies to Illinois, and not sure it’s worth doing. Quite sure Texas and Florida are quite happy to let the rest of the country continue to think this.

I commend you for at least posting this on your site. Not that I am surprised, mind you, because empirical evidence for supply-side effects of tax changes has always been weak or nonexistent. In other words, tax increases do generate additional revenue for governments and are a possible, albeit unpopular, solution for eliminating budget deficits and pension funding shortfalls.
